If you ever find yourself in the outskirts of Baltimore, open up Maps on your phone and type in Das Bierhalle. You will for sure need a car to get there.
This place contains vibes, food and drinks that are unmatched by any biergarten or similar restaurant that I have been to. You are instantaneously thrown into a positive mood the second you walk into the door by the lively customers, early 2000s pop songs and friendly staff. There is plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors, so you shouldn’t have to worry about making a reservation (I’m not even sure if they take reservations). You may be a little intimidated as you walk through. It is a biergarten after all, so let’s just say, some of the patrons look like they drink beer (and a lot of it). But do not worry, there are all types of people and the staff is very courteous as they help you find a seat.
The drink menu is huge so good luck finding a drink by the time your server comes over. If you want to blend in, order a beer, but they have sours, seltzers, crushes and so much to get you drunk. The food is incredible. Partly why I am obsessed with this place is that you would never expect some random bar outside of Baltimore to have such incredible food. The bar food here is completely elevated. You wouldn’t expect Nachos to be that good! There are so many options that I am dying to go back to try even more. You need to order:
Pickle Chips
Any Sausage
I won’t suggest more items because I want you to figure this one out for yourself. (Order everything)
The service really adds to your experience at Das Bierhalle. The servers were friendly, helpful and wanted us to have a good time. This is by far my favorite German spot. I firmly believe that this the gold standard of bars and that Bar Rescue guy could learn something from it.
