Almond Cake

If this recipe doesn’t get me famous, nothing will. 
This INCREDIBLY easy cake will sincerely make you mad on how delicious it is. This is probably the most simple cake I have ever made yet it is one of the best. The only ingredient that you may not have is Almond Extract but you can find this in your local super market in the baking section (Trader Joes did not have it).

You really only need one mixing bowl and will mix everything by hand.

This results in a beautiful and fancy cake. You will for sure impress your guests with this bakery style cake. But, like many of my recipes, you don’t need any guests as I have had half of this cake in one sitting.



You will need:

  • 3/4 Cup Melted Butter 
  • 1 and 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar 
  • 2 Eggs 
  • 1/2 Tsp of Salt 
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla 
  • 1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour

1 Tablespoon Sugar for Topping
2/3 Cup Sliced Almonds for Topping

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 F. Grab a 8-9 inch round pan, grease that up.


Add the melted butter and 1 1/2 cup of granulated sugar into a bowl. Mix until combined. Add eggs and stir this until you have a creamy mixture (about 1 minute). Add all of the other ingredients (except for the topping ingredients). Mix the ingredients until well combined and pour into your pan. Smooth the batter with a spatula to even it out. Sprinkle the almonds on top and then sprinkle the tablespoon of sugar. Bake for 40 minutes. I recommend serving when it is still a little warm but it is still great cold.
